Champagne Marion-Bosser

I discovered Elodie Marion's wines one day while tasting some goodies at Au 36, a great little Champagne bar and shop tucked away in the village of Hautvillers (on rue Dom Perignon, no less!) It's a family estate that dates back five generations, though they've only been bottling under their own label since 1994 when Elodie's mom Bernadette launched the brand.

Elodie (below) did her viticulture and enology studies in Beaune, and then returned to take the reins of the 10-acre estate based in Hautvillers. Old-school Champagnes in the best sense possible - meaning they're nicely balanced, not too severe in one direction or another, and are very precise, pure wines focused first and foremost on delivering flavor.
